Digging Up Positivity - February 2026

Welcome to another episode of Digging Up Positivity! The year is well on its way and boy was it packed! During SloFluffCon, I interviewed Uncle Kage, and we had Nordic FuzzCon, where I will give you a sneak peak behind the curtains of the circus together with the leader of the charity! This and more, but first, the charities!

Charities

AnthroExpo raised $18,000.00

In the USA we had AnthroExpo who raised money for Sisu Youth Services, an organisation dedicated to end homeless and hopelessness among transition-age youth in Oklahoma. 1867 wonderful critters gathered $18,000 together for this wonderful organisation!

Fursquared raised $31,536.00

And at Fursquared 2,795 fuzzies raised $31,536 for the Humane Animal Welfare Society, an open admission no kill shelter for both animals in need and for animals insearch for a loving forever-home.

Get Out The Float raised $4,913.11

For Seaside, Oregon USA, the furry inflation numbers are in! 407 squeekerinos have raised $4,913.11 for Sunset Park & Recreation during this year's Get Out The Float.

This is a 21% increase compared to last year and I think this is really amazing! On top of that, $1,325 has been raised for this convention itself so they can buy their own bouncy castles. Experts say this section of the furry fandom is getting bigger each year, while critics warn that much of it might be based on [hot]air.

Furries for Hulphond raised $289.18

Meanwhile in the Netherlands, furries raised $289.18 for Stichting Hulphond, a Dutch organisation that helps as many people as possible who really need a guidance dog to ensure they have access to one.

Motor City Furcon raised $35,000.00

At Motor City Furcon 2,525 cute furballs have raised $35,000 for Wolf Creek Habitat & Rescue, this money will be used to replace fencing, fix enclosures and rebuild platforms and shelters together with other things such as planting trees.

Vita Cordes raised $4,374.04

What should have been the start of an amazing convention got quite the shadow casted over it when Vita Cordes found out her camera equipment was stolen during the check in day at NordicFuzzCon, and one of her friends quickly started a GoFundMe. Before the convention was over, the goal was met, with some truly amazing donations with one even going well over 1,000 dollars in a loving display of the furry community. All together they raised $4,374.04 in that short amount of time.

Melbourne Furry Convention $12,867.93

Over 1,000 beautiful beans in Australia have raised $12,867.93 together for Kiwi’s New Life Bird Rescue during Melbourne Furry Convention! They do focus on rescuing lost, abandoned or neglected domestic birds, but they also aim to reunite lost birds with their owners and educate the public in general about responsible ownership of our beautiful and intelligent feathered friends.

Lone Star Fur Con raised $4000

The 1,179 visitors of Lone Star Fur Con together raised $4,000 for Queertopia, they focus on homelessness through an antiracist lens while empowering their local community.

NordicFuzzCon Charity [$42,487.36 raised]

Last month NordicFuzzCon, my proverbial home convention took place and besides raising money for our charity during an amazing convention, we visited the Ronald McDonalds House in Lund with Mausie and Iris.
