DC FurRide Group Issues Guidance Due To National Guard Occupation

Tuesday, the organizers for the Washington, D.C., FurRide sent an announcement to members advising attendees on how to behave in the presence of the National Guard during the upcoming event on September 20th riding the D.C. Metro. The message tells furs to “not engage in heckling, photography, or other disturbance” to the troops or to “other law enforcement personnel”.
President Donald Trump activated the National Guard in D.C. last month under the auspices of lowering crime in a city where, in the last five years, crime rates have fluctuated, and violent crime is on the decline since peaking two years ago. The National Guard are patrolling the Metro system as well as roaming the city’s streets. Some are armed, effectively making it an occupation.
Trump’s 30-day emergency direct control over the District’s police department expired Wednesday, though city police have been instructed by the mayor to coordinate indefinitely with federal law enforcement in an apparent appeasement.
FurRide 3 was scheduled days before an assault against a DOGE kid known as “Big Balls” occurred in the capitol city, which kicked off Trump calling in the National Guard. The FurRide will take the Orange Line from its western terminus Vienna (Virginia), to Smithsonian (National Mall). Several stops along the way are noted to have a National Guard presence. The first FurRide happened last September, and the second one back this past March.
Gladis Orca, the organizer, wrote in a direct message that she is “trying to minimize the chance of any conflicts”. She added, “the safety of our group is our top concern of course, and our updated guidance is in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for our attendees, and we look forward to not having to issue such guidance in the future once the current deployment ends.”
The organizers of the FurRide are trying to do one every six months. The occupation may last until the end of the year, but how long they’ll actually stay is an unanswered question.

Good luck still trying to appease him if he gets his coveted third term. Good luck still trying to be a furry under Fascist dictatorship. I'm sure it'll go swimmingly. Enjoy rides, cons and fandoms of all kinds while they last, but the ineffective "passive protest" of being a target essentially sworn not to fight back isn't going to save it. A war is the only thing that will and you know it.

Meds now, schitzo.
Okay, so we're being ableist now. Say, wanna go slightly less anon? Take things slightly more IRL? Nah, you'll puss out. Don't want to take the risk.
Furries in VA, NJ & NY can play their part by voting blue for every single candidate in November.

(Fucked up the formatting, sorry. But my points remain.)
Occupation? The National Guard of your own country is finally taking action to restore order and combat crime, and you call it an occupation. Since when have furries been defending the rights of thieves and drug addicts to commit crimes?
Oh, a while, now. At least early 70s,'73, '72, I'd say.
Consuming russian media makes one an idiot, apparently. They didn't tell you about the American commander in chief being a 34x felon who did such bad things to little girls that he has to make up a nonexistent crime wave to distract voters (and russian idiots who fall for anything.)
The reason that people in the United States would use the word occupation to describe a situation like this is that it is synomonous with any military engagement in a territory whether 'wanted' or 'unwanted'. Americans are aware that, yes, it is possible to be occupied by your own military force. In fact, after the 1st and 2nd Amendment, the 3rd indicates that private residents are under no obligation to house domestic troops.
This is to prevent our military from being used to extort our own citizens in a sort of 'auto-immune' fashion.
The current administration of our federal government has, and continues to, take resources of the guardsmen that usually belong to the states and nationalize them to take action in urban centers against the wishes of those states. Those engagements such as in Chicago and Los Angeles would fall under 'unwanted' occupations. A government official is doing this to spite another government official they have philosophical disagreements with as a form of intimidation and push to escalation to declare those very philosophical disagreements as 'the enemy'.
Behavior like this is sadly not too uncommon by individuals in power and have been witnessed throughout history, which is why the 3rd Amendment was one of the original 10 written back at the very founding of the US back in the late 1700s.
So you're denying the fact that there are a lot of people like this in America right now? How do you think the government should deal with this? As in Canada? In your country, protesters regularly engage in mass riots and looting every half a year. In a country where there are entire neighborhoods filled with drug addicts and areas that are dangerous to enter, and even neighborhoods where skin color still matters. At the same time, this does not exist in Russia at all, because our government was not afraid to raise the National Guard ten years ago to solve these problems. Quickly and efficiently. And as for the crimes of presidents. And which presidents were pure and holy (except for Putin)?
Okay, this is a joke! You had us going for a while, there, guy, but that's pretty good, actually.
Glad you didn't spend Halloween trying to troll furries, that would've been sad. Did you go to any parties, and dress up? (I had to work, but I wore a spooky t-shirt!)
Why would I troll furries? Do I look like a troll just because I have a different opinion than you? I'm not here to brag about my merits furry fandom, as it's more of a personal and it will not be taken out here . But not can a furry be a patriot at the same time? And no, Halloween isn't celebrated in Russia, at least not due to the weather (currently, Moscow is at three degrees Celsius).
Crime rates in American cities are at some of the lowest points in modern history, so in fact, there are not "a lot of people like this in America right now".
Stay in your lane, ivan, and stop falling for stupid bullshit on the level of tabloid stories about alien abductions.
Yes, we are being occupied by fascistic liars who are less believable than shitty tabloid media, and they are good friends with the people who run that media and get morons to fall for their lies.
